Thestrel (sounds like Kestrel) is a very loving and playful 55 pound male Labrador/Border Collie mix. He is just 1 year old and loves other dogs, meeting people, and going to new and exciting places. He is a ball of energy that sometimes doesn't know when enough is enough! He loves to chase and catch balls but is still working on the 'bring it back' part - lol! He is very smart but gets distracted easily so will need a firm leader to keep him on the straight and narrow. He especially enjoys food rewards for a job well done. Thestrel is also just as happy with a kind word of praise and a few pets when he's been a good boy. He is a squeaky toy destroyer so durable chew toys like Kongs or a Nylabone would be best for him, to keep him out of trouble. Thestrel will need a very active home life where he can get lots of exercise and mental stimulation. If you don't find ways to keep him busy he will gladly get into some trouble of his own and is still very much a puppy at heart. This guy is very sweet but a LOT of dog so it will be important for him to have lots of opportunities to exercise and a family that will maintain his training so he grows into a wonderful, lifelong companion.
