Hi, my name is Shasta. I was named after Mt. Shasta, like all my brothers and sisters. I'm a male, Labrador/Retriever mix puppy that is just over 3 months old that is living, training, and loving all the new experiences of life at the Sterling Correctional Facility. My day starts at 5 am with a trip to our potty area which we visit several times a day. I've learned that is the only place I'm supposed to go potty and I'm still growing so I'll need a family that understands I still need frequent potty breaks to make sure that my housetraining remains impeccable! I have training sessions every day where I've already picked up on all the good behaviors that people want in a canine companion. I really like to learn new things! There is also lots of time to play with humans and other dog friends - including some of my littermates. Sometimes I can't make up my mind who I want to play with because I just love to play with them all! I may be young but I am smart and have great potential as maybe even a future service dog (with some more specialized and advanced training)...who knows? In the meantime, I've got lots of growing to do and I'm ready for new adventures in a loving home with a family that can devote all the time, energy, training, and love that I will need to be the best dog I can be! My adoption fee is $800 and we can meet for an interview in Sterling or Denver.
