Hello, my name is Phoenix. I'm a 3 year old, male Heeler mix weighing around 51 pounds and I am full of energy! I love to work and train, go on long walks, and meet new human and canine friends. I don't mind sitting around the house but I would much rather be out on an adventure! I would prefer to have a new home that is active and I am very smart and eager to please. As you might imagine, I am also pretty smart and have picked up on all of my basic obedience well but can be a little stubborn at times. I'm hoping for an owner that is fair but firm to keep me in line so I remain the good boy that I've become while in prison. I love to play fetch and play with other dogs but when it's time to work I will get the job done! As a herding breed, I thrive on activity with purpose. I may sometimes playfully nip when I get excited (because that's what Heelers do!) so I would be most successful in a home with older kids.  If you think I would be a good fit for your lifestyle, please come meet me in our Canon City location.
