Meo-myoh...my name is Meo and I am a friendly and outgoing male Great Dane/Plott Hound mix. I am 1 and 1/2 years old and weigh around 69 pounds so I should be done growing up. I am a very active guy who will need a lot of exercise. I've learned to heel well next to my handler when he jogs so I would also make a nice running partner. I have exhibited a pretty strong prey drive when it comes to rabbits so I could have some good hunting skills with a little extra training and guidance. I also like to fixate on balls and will chase them for hours so that is another great option for exercising me. I was adopted from a shelter and then my family fell on hard times and couldn't take me with them so I'm on the hunt for a new home. I have been around kids as young as 3 years old and did fine but was just too rambunctious so would do best in a home with kids a bit older and bigger. I don't want to accidentally knock them down when playing. Speaking of playing, I've lived with many other dogs and love to romp and play with dogs my size and energy level. I have lived with cats and reportedly did fine, tolerating or ignoring them, but my new home should still exercise a lot of caution with me interacting with new cats - based on my prey drive. I've got a lifetime of love to give to an active family and they will get support for my training to make sure I'm successful in a new home. I've learned a lot and I also do well in my crate if you are around and the door is open but I may vocalize and have a little anxiety when I'm left alone. I don't know many dogs or people that like to be alone! I'm handsome and hopeful that the right family will come along soon. Could it be you?
