My name is Lazarus and I am a handsome 3 year old, male shepherd mix. I'm a nice medium size at just 40 pounds. I am gentle, loving and very smart! I even 'tricked death' apparently, which is how I earned my name. It's a long story I'll have to share with you sometime...I have been bounced around a bit before landing here at the prison program but it's hard to say why exactly. I can be a little shy when I first meet someone new but I warm up and will come at your call without hesitation once I trust you. I even recall out of play with other dogs, which is quite a challenge for most! And I play very well with all dogs. I am doing so well in my training and have been working on just a flat buckle collar with great success. Not sure about my history with kids or cats so we can cross that bridge if and when we get to it. Otherwise, I am actually quite mellow for my age and would love nothing more than a committed, permanent home with a loving family. Please consider getting on my Adoption Waitlist for an interview.
