Koda is a friendly, purebred male Chocolate Labrador Retriever in search of a new home. He is almost 2 years old and weighs 102 pounds and was surrendered to the program when his former family could no longer afford to keep him due to an unfortunate change in circumstances. He can be a little timid around large groups of people or big trucks but he warms up quickly and is a big lover boy! Koda especially loves to play fetch, as any self-respecting Retriever should! He also enjoys playing with other dogs and is a sucker for a belly rub from a friendly human. Koda is also very treat-motivated which has made him easy to train and he is always eager to learn - especially when there is a tasty morsel to earn. He is doing well in his obedience training, may whine a little in his crate at times, and has a history of doing well with children. He may be a little too exuberant for small dogs or a cat but we can assist with introduction suggestions if needed. Koda will be a great addition to almost any family and is waiting for a chance to meet adoption candidates down here in Canon City. Because he has papers, his adoption fee is $750.
