My name is Josie and I am a lovely female, 2 year old Anatolian Shepherd mix looking for a home. I'm a big girl at 88 lbs and probably mixed with a Great Pyrenees since I have double dew claws on my hind legs. My breed combination means that I am genetically predisposed to guarding and protection of my territory and my loved ones. I do enjoy playing with a ball and I love getting belly rubs. I also really enjoy grooming and brushing which is great because there is a lot of me to brush! I have lived with and get along well with other dogs and kids and I am gentle with my family members. I may simply be too large for really little kids so older kids would be best. I like to play with other dogs and have been known to chase birds so proper introductions to any livestock or cats should be supervised at first until I learn who is part of my family and who isn't. Most of the time I am a gentle giant and I am doing well in my obedience training. I may alert bark at strangers or a strange knock on the door and this is just part of the role I play as guardian of my kingdom. A large property with a fenced yard will be ideal for me so that I have clear boundaries to patrol. Please consider meeting me to see if I would be a good fit for your family. I'm finishing up my training down here in Canon City and will be ready to go into a new home in mid-June. My adoption fee is $650 which includes lifetime support for all my training.
