Francisco is a handsome, 5 year old male Shar Pei who we have lovingly nicknamed "The Walrus". He is a quiet gentleman and enjoys spending quality time cuddling with his human. He also does well with strangers and has had a chance to meet many different individuals during the course of his training in the prison. He is a big boy at 98 pounds currently and is working on losing some weight as it is difficult on his joints. Francisco is currently on joint supplements and he also has some medication to manage his hypothyroidism. He enjoys short walks in the fresh air. Francisco is tolerant of other dogs and would do best in a home with a mature, well-behaved dog or would likely prefer to be the only dog so he can get all the attention for himself. A single, level house without stairs would be ideal. As is typical of Shar Pei's, Francisco is a reserved gentleman who is looking for a quiet home without children and a lot of excitement and will be a very loyal companion once bonded to his person. He is particular about his place and kennel and has progressed through the training program at his own pace - slowly but surely.
