Hello, my name is Tinsel and I just turned 1 year old on December 25th! I am a female German Shepherd/Border Collie mix and I have a TON of energy! I will need a big yard and an active family, with other dogs and maybe some kids to play with, too. I'm a nice medium size, at about 40 pounds, and I really like kids! Kids are great because they give me all that unconditional love (and may occasionally drop something tasty on the floor - lol!). I'm very sweet but I can be mouthy when I get excited and I have been known to chew up things that I shouldn't because I am still very much a puppy with all of that puppy energy. It will be important for my new family to 'puppy-proof' my environment and continue using the crate and provide me with lots of appropriate chew toys that I can't destroy. I'm very smart and love to work - especially for treats! My last home had to give me up to the shelter because they couldn't give me the veterinary care and attention I needed. My earliest experience with a kennel was pretty awful so I am re-learning my potty training and that the crate can be my safe space and not a gross and filthy trap! I had a terrible tail infection that became life-threatening so they had to remove it. Now I have the cutest little nub of a tail! We're still working through the potty issues and have a great plan for my success in my next home. In spite of everything I've gone through I am still as sweet and happy as I can be! I might be a little shy around men with hats or glasses but with your help, I will come around and be your best furry friend ever. My adoption fee is $650 and I am waiting to meet you in Denver and ready to go home TODAY!
