Hola, hombres! My name is Diego and I grew up on the mean streets of Mexico before getting rescued and transferred to the US via the Maxfund shelter. I am a little 2 year old male Chihuahua mix weighing around 22 pounds. It looks like I have a folded back ear but they actually had to amputate it due to a bad infection from a dog bite. I'm really a lover and did not initiate that in any way.  I may have difficulty trusting strangers at first but if you bring out a tennis ball and give it a toss or two, I'll be your best friend forever! I LOVE to play fetch and would probably do well with older, teenaged kids that can throw that ball for me and give me lots of love. I may alert bark at strangers when we first meet but we're working on that. I'm smart, easy to train, and get along well with other dogs as long as they don't try to dominate me. Those first years of living on the street taught me to read the body language of other dogs well so I can tell if they are friend or foe and I prefer to avoid the big pushy ones. I'm ready to start my new beginning as an American pup so let's meet in our Denver location soon. My adoption fee is $650 which includes a lifetime of support for my training and my unique history. Please fill out an adoption application and ask to interview with Diego - and don't forget the tennis ball!
